Don’t underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering. – Winnie the Pooh
Slow down….enjoy the view.
We all know, or work with, that special person – the one who is so focussed on themselves and their issues, they never step back and look at the big picture. They forget that the world is bigger than them.
Tunnel vision can have great results in photography. Not so much in life.
I’ve been posting somewhat less regularly on this blog as I’ve been focussing on returning to work after my summer layoff period.
As well, I have been working on a 30 Day Blog Challenge on my writing blog, If You Would Not Be Forgotten. The Challenge is really adding to my writing but perhaps has thrown the balance off from here. There are some photo opportunities coming up this weekend so perhaps things will even out next week!
The moment you cheat for the sake of beauty, you know you’re an artist. – David Hockney
Without a doubt, I miss my camera. Since finding out the reason for the delay, though, I feel badly for ever making a fuss. Nikon was a company hard hit by the tsunami in Japan. If a large company is feeling the effects months after, imagine the people there. Their entire world has changed.
My camera and I can wait.
I am interested in continuing my blog, so I have been using photos from my archives to keep the blog active. I wasn’t technically “cheating” – I wasn’t hiding the source and they are my photos. This cheating does not make me an artist, but the quote exemplifies what one will do to keep their artistic interests moving along.
